A hamburger press* is a must because it shapes the game of meat kids. You can get a good patty press for as little as 13 euros. Also important: A reasonable lifting lathe – but almost everyone in the household has one anyway.

Great for burger starters: many burger spatulas *. So it won’t burn on the grill either. But be careful: make sure the handle is well insulated, otherwise it will hurt. When is the burger meat ready to cook? The rule is this: when the juices run over the meat, it’s ready to flip. Grill for 2-3 minutes on each side, depending on the amount of meat. You can get a burger lathe for just 10 euros.

A cool trick: With a branded iron * – which you can get for around 15 euros – you can put your name on the meat, as the manufacturer promises. However, many users report that this action fails regularly. Test your garden – it looks great!

Important tip for burger buns: Toast the bun on both sides beforehand to prevent the sauce from soaking up and becoming soupy. Then it can be covered and stacked. By the way: Burgers can be eaten with your own hands in the right style.

Ingredients for four burgers:

  • 600 grams of beef
  • 0.5 teaspoons of fine sea salt
  • 1 spoon of oil
  • 8 slices of tomatoes
  • 0.5 pieces of red onion
  • 1 piece of iceberg lettuce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon American mustard
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns

Put up:

  1. Burgers are incredibly easy to make. Most importantly, don’t confuse the American-style “Classic Burger” with a meatball. less is more; it belongs to e.g. B. There is no onion in the meat.
  2. If you really want to use onions: Chop the onion as finely as possible and fry it before adding it to the mixture.
  3. Traditionally, mayonnaise was not used in burgers – absolutely forbidden! For extra fun and nutritional value, use it to coat lids and use guacamole (avocado puree).
  4. Preheat grill or oven (high heat). Toast the burger buns until golden brown. It is important not to salt the meat before kneading: this removes water and reduces the binding properties of the protein. The burgers are salted and peppered after frying.
  5. It is better to reduce the mass by half, it is necessary to knead hard so that one and a half proteins come out. Then we mix it into a non-mixed mass. Form four “patties” from the mixture, preferably using a hamburger press. You mustn’t be too fat! But hamburgers can be larger in diameter than buns because they shrink as they cook.
  6. Heat oil in a coated pan. Brown the hamburgers on both sides and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Then put the hamburgers on the pan and put the cheese on top. Place in the oven on high heat for one minute to allow the cheese to melt slightly.
  7. Put the bottom of the rolls on preheated plates and apply mustard. Top with ketchup or barbecue sauce or guacamole. Arrange the lettuce first, then the tomatoes and onions. Place this pile on the meat.
  8. Serve the hamburgers with or without the lid, i.e., serve the toppings next to the hamburgers. Important: the lettuce must be under the tomato slice!
