How to solve the bun problem: the pancake burger

Pancake Burger: This is not only amazing but also finger-licking delicious. Our version comes with eggs, bacon and cheddar. A few dashes of maple syrup make the sin perfect.

Do you know him? Craving a homemade burger, but supermarket buns aren’t ideal or available? A pancake burger helps.

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • For the pancake buns:
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 250 g of flour
  • 500 ml of milk
  • salt
  • 4 eggs
  • to close:
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 3 eggs
  • 50 ml of milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 4 slices cheddar
  • 4 tablespoons of maple syrup

Approx per serving:

  • 600 calories
  • 26 grams of fat
  • 65 grams of carbohydrates
  • 25.4 grams of protein

Preparation time:

  • approximately 60 minutes (including 30 minutes of rest time)

And here’s how it’s done:

  1. First prepare the pancake rolls. Mix all the ingredients and leave for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 220 degrees.
  2. Bake the bacon on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet in the oven until crisp.
  3. For scrambled eggs, beat three eggs with the rest of the milk and season with pepper, salt and paprika. Heat the oil in a pan and add the egg mixture to the pan. Stir a few times and allow to set. Place it on the closed side.
  4. For the buns, place four equal spoonfuls of batter in the pan. If you have fried rings, individual buns are perfect. Fry on medium heat for about four minutes on both sides. Place the first four buns on a large plate and repeat the process for the rest of the batter.
  5. Pour 1 tablespoon of maple syrup on the bottom of each burger. Then a quarter of the eggs. Top each with a slice of cheddar and two slices of bacon. Cover with a lid.
  6. Serve on a medium plate. A light salad goes well with it.
